TOPICS 4 - 7

Stress

Stress is one of the biggest causes of desease and illness in this country, however, we often dont check it to keep it in balance.

Stress can underline anything from a rash to coronory heart desease, however, it can be managed and even used to benewfit somethings we need to do.

These sessions will investigate stress via disscusion and research literature. We will look at individual stress levels using a psychological test. We will look at the environment you live and work in to gain insight to stressers and how we can reduce or tolerate them better.

This is a very practical approach to stress and will involve advice and guidance on how you can recognise stress and neutralise it before it becomes a problem for you and for others around you.

Mental Health

Mental health effects everyone, some have good, some have ok and some have bad and of course the majority of us have all the in-betweens!

We will look at anxiety, depression, bi-polar, drug related psychosis and anything else that may be on your mind.

The sessions will look at literature, research, the possible paths of deteriorating mental health and most importantly how we deal with others who suffer and recognising how we too can become mentally unhealthy, if we dont take care of our mental health.

This is not for people who already have a diagnosis and are recieving support and help from professional bodies, why?, because this is set at a preventative level and only serves to look at preventing techniques and also an undertsanding of others with mentalhealth problems.

I do see people on a one to one basis if they have a recognised problem or/and are working with other professionals see my one to one info.

Alcohol

Alcohol is fun and also kills more people in our country than all the elegal drugs put together, however, its one of those things that often creeps up and blinds us to the damage it is actually doing. I often find people amazed that like smoking, you can stop the possible damage and reverse its effects if done in time.

These sessions will look at possible body issues regarding alcohol and how it effects your mind not at the time of drinking but a day after and possible at work or being with others.

we will look at how much it costs and how you can still enjoy a night out but still be aware of you!

these sessions will mostly be disscussion with information via the net, myself (Lin) and research homework you will be set.

It will be fun and you will find out some interesting facts and figures that you may be part of!

Addiction

the first thing that often comes to mind when we mention drugs is illegal substance missuse, however, many people are addicted to pain killers, sleeping pills, smoking, sweets and even gases.

These sessions will look at what addiction is and when do you know you have one? taking drugs does not make you an addict and did you know there are two types of addiction,  the first is an emotional one the second is a physical one.

we will investigate by debate and disscusion there will also be research as homework and info questions and answers. we will also use games ti further our knowledge and understanding of addiction.
